Pastels

 While in graduate school, I began a series of pastel works where I deconstructed the landscape into fundamental shapes, colors, and textures. I experimented with surface treatments, often manipulating the pastels with various media to liquify and paint with them. These explorations continue to inform my current practice and serve as foundational material for my three-dimensional paintings.
