Florals

Like many illustrators and textile artists, I draw direct inspiration from nature. In this series of mixed-media paintings, I incorporate repeated floral motifs—both painted and hand-drawn—layered between collaged elements. I’m particularly moved by how John Hopper describes this connection in his article "The Floral in Textile Surface Pattern Work" (Fibre2Fashion, 2012), where he writes, “Floral pattern work, in the context of surface design, is a source of comfort, an old friend.” Our relationship with nature is enduring, and as such, the floral motif remains a timeless element in design.
